My main job is as a Community Lead at Entos advocating for the Envision project. Envision is a browser-based computational chemistry platform driven by machine learning. On any given day I am chatting with people about Envision, creating video/written tutorials about the software, and in general doing what I can to improve Envision and get it in more people's hands. Our motto is that everyone who is thinking or talking about molecules should be using Envision, I see my role as the bridge to make that dream a reality.
YouTube has become a wonderful platform for learning. In the summer of 2020, I decided to begin uploading my lectures onto the platform for free. The response has been simply amazing, with my channel reaching thousands of unique users across the globe. Over the next year I plan to add additional content to the channel including advice videos for PhD students and early career scientists, and software tutorials for science, writing, and productivity. Stay Tuned!!
Since my early days of graduate school I have contributed to open-source software for quantum chemistry. Right now my primary project is an open-source python based package called PYREX (PYthon Reaction Energy eXtension). This code interfaces with PSI4, ORCA, and PYSCF in order in order to provide unique properties for structures along a reaction coordinate. The code is now publicly available on Github.
